Hey, I’m Sophia Scheel, and performance has been my lifestyle since I was six years old. I’m 15 now, and along the way, I’ve had the chance to experience and explore a lot of different artistic worlds—singing, dancing, acting, and playing music. But at the heart of it all, I just love to create. Whether it’s telling a story through a song or expressing emotions through dance, performance is what lights me up.
My journey began with music, and that’s where my passion truly ignited. I released my first original single, "Notice Me", in 2018 when I was just 11, and it felt like a dream come true. The music video was just the beginning of a journey that’s taken me on some wild adventures. One of my favorite things to do is sing the National Anthem—there's something so powerful about those words and the energy in the air when you perform it live. I’ve had the honor of performing at amazing places like the Nashville Sounds baseball games and The Ohio State University.
I’ve also had the incredible opportunity to sing with the Heimermann Children’s Choir, where I’ve worked with awesome Christian artists like David Phelps. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of studying voice with some of the best vocal coaches out there, including Renee Grant Williams, Jon Audric Nelson, Morgan Lee Scheel, Brook Swinger and Rachel Potter. They’ve helped me find my voice and pushed me to grow as an artist.
But music isn’t the only thing I’m passionate about. I’ve been acting since I was seven, and I’ve worked on some super exciting projects. I had the amazing chance to play a principal dancer in the upcoming film "Holland" alongside the incredible Nicole Kidman. I’ve also appeared in Camp Radio Episode 8 as Eve, and starred in Sam Williams' music video for "Tilted Crown" as Young Katie. But right now, I’m especially excited about my first starring role in the movie "Hope Chest" with Wild Bones Productions. The movie is getting released in both the U.S. and Europe, and I’m so grateful to be part of this amazing team.
I’ve trained with some incredible acting coaches over the years, like A Class Act NY, Andrew Chappelle, BIZKIDZ Talent Coaching, Lindsay Shope, Janet Ivey and Nashville Acting Studio, just to name a few. Every time I step into a new role, I learn something new about myself, and I love the challenge of bringing a character to life.
When I’m not singing or acting, you can usually find me with a guitar in my hands. I’ve been studying both electric and acoustic guitar with Jason Gimbal, a jazz musician who’s also the lead guitarist for the country group Lady A. Music is my therapy, and playing guitar is one of my favorite ways to express myself. I also started studying classical piano when I was six, so music is a constant thread running through my life.
Dancing is another huge part of who I am. I’m a member of the Milele Academy Dance Company, and I’ve trained with some truly amazing choreographers over the years. I’ve done everything from hip-hop to contemporary, and I’m always pushing myself to try new styles. It’s been so rewarding to receive recognition for my hard work, like the Choice Artist Award from hip-hop choreographer Tawanna Hall. Dance is where I feel most free, and I love how it allows me to connect with my body and emotions in such a powerful way.
Outside of performing, I’m also pretty into volleyball, watching fireflies, learning new languages, and collecting betta fish. I guess you could say I’m always curious about the world around me, and I love picking up new hobbies that challenge me in different ways.
At the end of the day, my goal is to keep growing as an artist and to keep pushing myself to be better in every aspect of my craft. I want to inspire others to follow their passions and to never stop creating. Because when performance becomes your lifestyle, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.
Thanks for following my journey—stay tuned for more!
